Hudson Food pantry feeds minds as well

The Hudson League for Service donated several dozen new books to the Hudson Food Pantry, located at the Rejoice Lutheran Church, 7855 Stow Road.

The donation was made possible by the contributions of those attending the recent Scholastic Book Fairs. Donations to the "One For Books" program were matched by Scholastic and were used to provide books to youth and children at the monthly food distribution sponsored the Hudson Community Service Association.

Volunteer Jennifer McKinley said parents were delighted to select a book for their children.

The food pantry is sponsored by the Hudson Community Service Association. The pantry is open to receive food donations every Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Distribution hours are the fourth Saturday of each month from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Eligibility is based the income levels. The Food Pantry assists any resident living within the Hudson City School District boundaries. For more information, call 330-671-9457 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
