The Hudson Rotary Club presented $5,000 proceeds from their Annual Auction to Hattie Larlham, represented by Rotarian Rosanne Drake, who presented an update on Hattie Larlham's leading role in northeast Ohio aiding kids with developmental disabilities.
Since 1961, Hattie Larlham has built a rich legacy upon the principle that every child and adult with developmental disabilities deserves the best care possible. Beyond just providing for a person's basic needs, Hattie Larlham recognizes the importance of socialization, relationships and fun. When a child or adult with developmental disabilities receives services from Hattie Larlham, whether at the Center for Children with Disabilities, a community home or in their own home, they are in the hands of those who not only give care but who do care. Thanks to the great efforts of the Hudson Rotary club these children and young adults will be able to breathe easier. The funds raised at the auction purchased a Metaneb Machine. This machine helps clear the lungs of mucus and helps prevent infections. Community support like this will ensure Hattie Larlham continues providing services for people with developmental disabilities.
The 2013 Rotary Auction was sponsored by gold sponsors Akron Children's Hospital, American Endowment Foundation, Dollar Bank, Morgan Bank and Falls Filtration Technologies and at the silver level by Burton D. Morgan, Day Ketterer and Laurel Lake Retirement Community.
