Hudson PTO Pancake Breakfast is March 2

Published:

While a delicious breakfast and a noble cause is enough to come to the 56th Annual Hudson PTO Pancake Breakfast on March 2 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Hudson High School Commons, there is a smorgasbord of activities to keep you there long after your last bite is taken. Enjoy breakfast featuring Perkins Pancakes, juice and milk from Hudson's Restaurant, and generous support provided by PTO's Community Partner, US Foods, then go check out the entertainment, games, exhibits, prizes and fun that the PTO has assembled for this very special day.

The Prize Baskets Raffle is a yearly tradition, and this year it features an apple iPad, a one-week New Year's Eve time-share stay in Kissimmee, Florida, and a 4-pack of clubhouse tickets and parking passes to the May 9 Cleveland Indians baseball game. Tickets for the raffle can be purchased at the breakfast for $1 each, 6 for $5, or 15 for $10. Winners do not need to be present to win. In addition to the prize raffle, PTO is also conducting a 50/50 raffle, which offers participants the possibility to win hundreds of dollars in cash. Ticket prices for this raffle are identical to the prize basket raffle.

If games of chance aren't your choice, try visiting the children's games area in the auxiliary gym. Various games and activities will be available, with the chance to win prizes. Games require tickets which can be purchased in the gym.

For those who want to feed their soul, visit the District Art Show in the main gym, which will contain 20 pieces each, from every grade in the school district. In addition, several students' pieces that recently garnered top honors from the prestigious Scholastic Art and Writing Awards will be on display. The Hudson School District Historical Display will also have an exhibit located in the main gym. This bi-yearly exhibition is a collection of school-related artifacts dating from the early 1800's to the present.

The awarding-winning Jazz Ensembles will also be present at the breakfast, along with other musical entertainment. A schedule of performers and times can be found at hudsonpto.org under the pancake breakfast tab.

The PTO is also introducing a new photo op experience this year. Hudson High School Art Teacher, Tim Naujoks, and his High School Photography Club will be offering fun photos for everyone attending the Pancake Breakfast. A "Studio Set-Up" will be in the main gym near the Art Show so anyone can stop by and take individual or group/family photos, using some fun and crazy props and costumes. Photos will be processed on site by photography club students for $5 for 1-5x7, $8 for 2 - 5-x7 or $10 for 3- 5x7 picture prints.

The Hudson PTO has worked hard to create the most important, and maybe the most enjoyable meal of the year in Hudson. All profits from all the activities at the breakfast will go to fund grants and scholarships within the school district. Visit hudsonpto.org for information about Hudson PTO, as well as updated and complete information regarding the pancake breakfast.

So don't think you have to come for the pancakes- come for breakfast, but stay for the fun and support the schools!
