Talk on living in 'Kingdom of Heaven' here and now

"Living in the 'Kingdom of Heaven' right here and now" is the subject of a free talk to be given at the Hudson Library & Historical Society on April 22 at 1 p.m., sponsored by First Church of Christ, Scientist, Hudson.

Jose de Dios Mata, a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, will talk about how prayer and the expression of such attributes as mercy, justice, and unselfishness can reveal this ever-present kingdom right in the midst of the most difficult situations. His message is clear and simple: "As Christ Jesus taught, Heaven is within us, and not a place in the future. It is a mental and spiritual state without a single element of delay."

LGBTQ support group meets monthly

St. Mary Church, 340 N. Main St. in Hudson, is offering a Family Ministry Support Group to address the needs of those who are LGBTQ and their families.

Many parents and family members identify with various feelings: relief, anger, mourning, fear, guilt, shame, loneliness and parental protectiveness. If you are struggling with any of these feelings and are looking for support please consider participating in the St Mary Family Support group. The meeting day is generally the fourth Tuesday of every month to accommodate more folks.

The goal of this ministry is not to attempt to alter any person's sexual orientation; rather, it is our goal to support all persons in their quest for wholeness and holiness. Any questions, contact Lori Joseph at ljoseph@stmaryhudson.cc or 330-653-8118 ext. 233.
