Author Jane Ann Turzillo to speak at UU Church of Akron Oct. 21

Published: October 13, 2016 11:27 AM

Hear Jane Ann Turzillo share the tale of “Akron Mary,” a Cleveland madam’s run-in with Eliot Ness, a Niles woman’s vengeance, and a Lake County flapper’s last party, among others, on Oct. 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron, at 3300 Morewood Road in Fairlawn (across from Summit Mall).

As one of the original owners of the West Side Leader in Akron, Turzillo covered police and fire news and wrote a historical crime column. She combines her love of history and true crime in her books “Murder and Mayhem on Ohio’s Rails” and “Wicked Women of Northeast Ohio,” both from History Press.  Books will be available for purchase and signing following presentation.

Refreshments will be served. Babysitting available upon request.  For more information, visit www.uuwakron.org or email uuWakron@gmail.com.
