Worship services at First United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, are on Sundays at 8:30 and 11 a.m.
The church has many Sunday School classes for all ages which meet from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. There is child care available for infants through preschoolers all morning and there is a Children’s Worship service for those in Kindergarten through fifth grade during the 11 a.m. service.
The Wesley Youth Outing is for all fourth through sixth graders. This month they will travel by church bus to Nickajack Pumpkin Farm on Oct. 9. Children should bring a sack lunch to eat at noon in Asbury Hall and they will leave from there, returning at 5:30 p.m. Call the church office at 330-923-5241, Ext. 218 to register or for questions.
Going Strong, a group of active retirees of the church and community, will visit the Holden Arboretum and the James A. Garfield home on Oct. 14. Guitarist Mark Kroos will perform at First Church on Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. Kroos is one of the only people in the world who plays a guitar with two necks. Drawing influence from folk, Celtic, indie, and even punk rock artists, he has developed his own edge to the acoustic guitar. “Dueling Banjos” is one of the songs he performs.
