AKRON - Akron SCORE, the free mentoring program for new and existing businesses, announced today that it will offer eight free workshops in May 2017. The workshops offer practical guidance to help new businesses get started and existing businesses improve their operations and profitability.
The workshops will be conducted at The Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing at The University of Akron, the Main Branch of the Akron/Summit County Library and Goodwill Industries on East Waterloo Road. All workshops are conducted by professional counselors certified by SCORE, the non-profit Small Business Administration-affiliated organization.
Workshops scheduled for The Taylor Institute include:
° May 3 Fundamentals of Writing a Business Plan, 5:30 8:30 p.m.
° May 10 Fundamentals of Financial Management, 5:30 8:30 p.m.
° May 16 Results Selling, 5:30 8:30 p.m.
° May 23 Staring Your Own Business, 5:30 8:30 p.m.
° May 24 Thinking About Building a Website, 5:30 8:30 p.m.
Additional workshops will be held at the Akron/Summit County Main Library including:
° May 8 Ask a Patent Attorney, 6 8 p.m.
° May 9 Introduction to Intellectual Property, 6:30 7:30 p.m.
° May 13 Introduction to Patents & Patent Searching, 10:15 a.m. noon
Also, a seminar titled Cyber Security for Your Business will be presented May 11 at Goodwill Industries on East Waterloo Road.
