AKRON, Ohio - Kevin Watson Jr., MD, has joined Akron Children’s Hospital as a pediatric gastroenterologist.
Dr. Watson completed his pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. He earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va., and completed his pediatrics residency at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, also in Norfolk.
Dr. Watson’s has special interest in inflammatory bowel disease, eosinophilic esophagitis, celiac disease, and endoscopic surveillance.
Akron Children’s Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology provides diagnosis and treatment of infants, children and teens with gastrointestinal diseases, such as Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, gastroesophageal reflux, diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel disease, pyloric stenosis, Hirschsprung’s disease and irritable bowel syndrome.
The Division’s four gastroenterologists and two nurse practitioners are joined by a multidisciplinary team – social worker, dietitian, psychologist, surgeons and others – to offer comprehensive care for patients and their families.
Dr. Watson, who resides in east Akron, also sees patients once a week in Canton at Aultman Hospital.
