Bill Homjak will present "The Phone Screening Interview" at the Oct. 17 Hudson Job Search meeting.
"For most job seekers, 70 to 80 percent of the time their first interview with a prospective employer is over the phone," Homjak said. "The phone interview is actually the 'first screen,' used to 'knock you out' as a viable candidate for the position advertised or available."
Most callers (interviewers) do not give you advanced notice about the call and interview - are you ready to handle it effectively? How do you prepare for the phone interview and what are key issues with handling a phone interview as the job seeker? This Hudson Job Search session will cover all the key elements for dealing with the "unplanned" phone call / job interview.
Each participant attending this session is required to bring a copy of his/her Resume, a job ad they would apply for, and her/his cell phone.
