Destination Hudson has completed the move of the Visitor Center to historic Town Hall, and is inviting Hudson residents to become sponsors of the organization. Destination Hudson was established in 2009 with the mission of raising awareness of Hudson's history and heritage and working with other community organizations to promote the Hudson experience to residents and visitors.
The Visitor Center & Gift Shop is open seven days a week from noon until 4 p.m., and provides information about all aspects of Hudson, including schools, parks, events, local businesses, maps, walking tours and historical flyers. In addition to being an informational focal point, the Visitor Center includes a gift shop specializing in all things Hudson: Clocktowers in many forms, ornaments, T-shirts, hats and Hudson afghans. Also available are many books about Hudson, jigsaw puzzles, mugs and artwork produced by local artists.
In addition to operating the Visitor Center, Destination Hudson works with the Chamber of Commerce to publish an annual Visitor & Events Guide, maintains a website, and is involved in numerous community events including the new Holiday Basket Raffle, Santa at Town Hall during the Holiday Walk on Dec. 4, the Frosty 5 Run on Christmas Eve morning, and the annual Chocolate Walk in February.
Liz Murphy, executive director of Destination Hudson, said "becoming sponsors is a way for residents, past and present, to express their pride in our wonderful town."
Details can be found on the sponsorship forms which have been mailed to a large number of Hudson households. Forms are also available at http://destinationhudson.com/visitors-center-store or at the Visitor Center, at the first floor of Town Hall on the Village Green at 27 E. Main St.
