Akron, OH – Summa Health today launched a new service that will help patients seamlessly and digitally access Summa Health physicians. The service facilitates online appointment-making with participating providers across multiple specialties.
Other Summa Health physicians, specialties and appointment availability will be added in the coming months. The service is powered by Zocdoc, the leading digital health marketplace used by millions of patients every month.
To use this free service, patients visit summahealth.org/schedulenow. There, they can see doctors’ schedules in real time, along with qualifications, verified patient reviews, photos, and additional tools for selecting providers who best fit their needs. Patients may then choose an open timeslot and schedule their own appointment with just a few clicks. This service greatly improves the traditional patient experience by eliminating time-consuming phone calls, helping patients book with Summa Health doctors 24/7 (even when the office is closed), and sending email and text reminders about upcoming appointments to help reduce no-shows.
The typical Zocdoc appointment takes place in just 24 hours. This is made possible by Zocdoc’s online marketplace that shows doctors’ real-time availability – including last-minute cancellations and no-shows – to patients who are seeking care.
The new partnership with Zocdoc continues Summa Health’s vision of improving the overall health of the community through population health management and of providing patients with a modern, accessible and simple healthcare experience.
“To all of us at Summa, this new service we are providing really comes down to the patient experience,” said Ellen Smith, vice president of Business Development and Access for Summa Health. “We are confident that, first and foremost, we will be improving the process through which our patients make their medical appointments and are also committed to bringing Summa Health the latest in cutting-edge technology.”
