Lean how to promote achievements during a job search

Do you know how to share your successes? Jeff Bissell says "Doing a good job promoting your skills, successes and attitude is vital to developing confidence and connections during a job search."

Whether during a networking meeting, an interview, or a casual conversation with friends or acquaintances, the ability to communicate your value in a working environment is a key element to success. The process begins with exploring and capturing accomplishments succinctly on a resume, then developing a short summary that can be presented in a minute or two in conversation.

Participants will learn the key elements of developing effective accomplishment bullets on a resume, practice writing bullets, developing the "rest of the story," and then have the opportunity to discuss their accomplishments. This interactive session will help develop skills that can immediately be used in a job search.

Bissell asks everyone bring a copy of their resume to the meeting.

Bissell, a Hudson Job Search advisor and CFO at National Machine Company in Stow will be our speaker.

Hudson Job Search meets at Christ Church Episcopal, 21 Aurora St. and is free and open to the public. This month only the meetings will be on the second and fourth Monday of the month due to the Labor Day holiday.
