Certified Nerds collecting cell phones

Published:

Akron - Certified Nerds announced they are now a collection site for the Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center's cell phone drive.

The Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center consists of the Battered Women's Shelter and Rape Crisis Center of Summit and Medina Counties. Discarded cell phones recycled through this program are used in one of a few ways. Cell phones in working condition can be repurposed to allow a victim to have help at their fingertips. For phones that no longer work, the Resource Center is still able to make use of them - parts can be turned in for funds to support its cause.

"By recycling a cell phone through Certified Nerds you are not only keeping e-waste out of landfills, but you are helping a victim in need," said Kyle O'Brien, Certified Nerds Store Manager.

Used cell phone donations can be dropped at either Certified Nerds Merriman Valley location, 1720 Merriman Road, Akron, or Certified Nerds Munroe Falls location, 297 N. Main St., Munroe Falls, during store hours (Monday-Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.).
