Ed Romito owner of Johnson-Romito Funeral Home received an award at the Ohio Funeral Directors State Convention in Columbus for being a licensed funeral director for 50 years.

Romito started working for the Donald B. Johnson and Sons Funeral Home when he was 15 years old. He worked in the print shop, did maintenance and even ambulance runs. Eventually the Johnsons convinced Romito that he was good with people and should think about making it his career. So he went to The Pittsburg Institute of Mortuary Science graduated and became a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in 1964. In 1977 he had the opportunity to purchase the funeral home and it became Johnson-Romito Funeral Home with locations in Bedford, Hudson Northfield and Twinsburg.
