Hudson - Western Reserve Academy sophomore Joe Blanda was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Recognizing a need for increased awareness and funding for brain cancer research, Joe, along with his parents Dr. Joseph and Michelle Blanda, of Peninsula, founded Blast Glioblastoma to do just that.

GRC-Green Roots Collection, located at the Evaporator Works, 51 S. Main St., has set April 27 from 1 to 6 p.m. as a day to raise funds for the organization. GRC will donate 25 percent of sales this day to Blast Glioblastoma, and encourages customers to come in, shop, and help support the organization.

Blast Gioblastoma, also has fund raising events scheduled for May. More information can be found at www.blastgbm.com.
