Certified Nerds 3rd Annual E-Waste Drive througout April

Published:

Akron, OH - Certified Nerds announced they will be host their 3rd Annual E-Waste Drive from April 1 to April 30.

Every year Certified Nerds deems April as E-Waste Awareness Month.   All too often, electronic waste (e-waste) is not properly disposed of.  Improper disposal leads to toxins and carcinogens being leached into the ground as well as increased costs of constructing new systems. Poor disposal habits are generally a factor of lack of education regarding e-waste.  So Certified Nerds is here to help.

During the month of April, you can drop your e-waste items at Certified Nerds for free. Items that can be accepted for recycle and disposal include old workstations, printers, laptops, monitors and backup batteries.  When handled properly, e-waste can provide valuable sources for secondary raw materials.

“With hazardous materials in certain older devices, and a constant reform of new devices, e-waste is an increasingly important thing to recycle or dispose of in the correct manner.  Certified Nerds has had a growing mountain of old electronics the past few years.  With two locations now, I can't wait to see the volume of our collection this year.”– Kyle O’Brien, Certified Nerds District Manager

The public is invited to drop e-waste items off at either of Certified Nerds two locations during this collection period.  Certified Nerds is located in Merriman Valley, 1720 Merriman Rd  Akron, OH  44313 and  in Munroe Falls next to Sarah Jane’s Bakery, 297 N. Main St.  Munroe Falls, OH  44262. Store hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

It is important that proper disposal for e-waste be practiced all year round.
