Fairlawn - RJF International Corporation announced the promotion of Richard Runkel to chief executive officer, replacing John Baechle, in December.

Runkel, of Hudson, began his career with RJF in 1992 and progressed through the organization, including becoming vice president, interior products in October 2007 and assuming the role of president and COO in January 2009.

As CEO, Runkel is responsible for establishing the strategic business direction and growth opportunities for the company.

"Rich's success in building relationships internally and externally provides him with the impetus necessary to build on RJF International's position as the leader in interior finishings and matting products," Baechle said.

Runkel has a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a master's degree from the University of Phoenix.
