Hudson -- Diners may see some familiar sports team memorabilia at a new restaurant, Sidelines Bar and Grill, 5893 Akron Cleveland Road near state Route 303.
The Co-owners, Chris Rightnour and Dave Lewis, have been a part of youth sports for more than 10 years.
Chris has been president of Hudson Hawk Youth Football for seven years and Lewis has been equipment manager for six years. Both are board members with Chris serving 13 years and Dave serving six and involved for 10 years.
Chris and Dave opened Sidelines Bar and Grill Nov. 27 after remodeling the former Tequila Pancho's Restaurant and Watering Hole and renaming it.
The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to closing; and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.
Manager Claudine Rightnour said she and her husband owned Hershey's Ice Cream before selling it to Michael Freedman. Dave's wife, Kathy, is a server at Sidelines and also a second grade teacher in Hudson at Ellsworth Hill Elementary.
Sidelines has a sports theme with sports equipment and photos from local high school and college teams decorating the walls, she said. The family restaurant also has a full bar and 11 television sets.
"The restaurant has a nice selection of beer in bottles and on tap with a full liquor bar," Claudine said. "It's a great family friendly place to come with plenty of televisions to watch."
The Sidelines burgers are all 1/2 pound and come with homemade pub chips. The menu includes sandwiches, wraps, wings and plenty of appetizers. They also carry the Tequila Pancho's salsa, white cheese dip and recipe for marguerites, Claudine said.
"Everyone knows the flavor," she said. "We have become known already for our great burgers and pretzel sundaes."
