Hudson Job Search talks about standing apart from competition

Published:

The Hudson Job Search next meeting will discuss how people can stand apart from their competition. The meeting is Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

With years of experience, there is an unspoken acknowledgement of your success and your level of professionalism - so while you must be prepared to discuss what you have done in the past and where you have performed these duties, you cannot simply "laundry list" these details in a bland and mundane fashion and expect to differentiate yourself from dozens/hundreds of other candidates.

Mike Perry will discuss what it takes, from the perspective of a hiring manager, to make the kind of impression during an interview that will give you a great chance to be moved along to the next stage in the hiring process.

Interviewing topics to be discussed: Preparation - How to get ready and avoid being a nervous wreck; customizing the interview; S.T.A.R.s - The strategy for demonstrating why you are "the one"; your questions - what you should (and should not) ask the interviewer; the question - the question that will set you apart from the competition; and follow up strategies.

Hudson Job Search meets the first and third Monday of every month at Christ Church Episcopal, 21 Aurora St. with sign-in at 7:15 p.m.

All are welcome, for more information call 330-655-5352 or hudsonjs@windstream.net.
