Hudson -- CompMed Analysis, a workers' compensation denial management consultant for health care systems, opened a 10,000-square-foot office at 1743 Georgetown Road Oct. 10 with a ribbon cutting.

"We are excited about the relocation to Hudson," said Sherrie Bearden, RN, owner of CompMed Analysis.

Bearden and her husband, Phil, live in Hudson. Eight years ago she began the business in their basement.

"We wanted to bring the company back to Hudson," Phil said.

The previous location was in Stow.

"The transition to our new facility allows us to bring more than 35 jobs to the city with room for continued growth," Bearden said. "We are in the final phase of our national certification for a women-owned business, and these two synergistic activities are the spark and catalyst for our future initiatives."

CompMed Analysis partners with approximately 40 hospitals and health care systems in the Ohio area to help them resolve and manage the complexities involved with the processing of the Workers' Compensation claims of the patients they serve, Bearden said. Employees have a complete understanding of the Ohio Workers' Compensation law, clinical care delivery and a knowledge of the health care system in order to offer a full-service solution to resolve cases in a timely manner to help both the hospitals as well as the patients, she said.

"Our new location allows our entire staff to be under one roof working collaboratively on our customers' behalf," Bearden said.

Next year with all the changes in medical care, Bearden expects hospitals to send more of their Workers' Compensation claims to CompMed Analysis. Even though it's only 3 to 5 percent of a hospital's revenue, it adds up, she added.

The building was remodeled to create an open work space and comfortable areas for employees, Bearden said.

"Working with Nate Zampelli of G.P. Zampelli Construction, we were able to construct a unique space to fit all of our needs with the ability to expand in the future," Bearden said.
