"Overcoming Obstacles in Your Job Search, It Isn't Rocket Science," is the topic Greg Reynolds, director of client development at Dise & Co., will discuss at the Oct. 21 Hudson Job Search meeting.
Reynolds believes there are simple but effective ways to be set apart from the crowd in the job market. He will present 10 principles of job search creativity and relate the stories of six of his "Job Search Heroes" to illustrate his point.
Reynolds said a job seeker feels a need to have a perfect plan before embarking on a search.
"The only perfect plan is the one that lands you a job," Reynolds said. "You'll never launch your search, let alone find a job, waiting for the perfect plan."
His presentation will show job seekers there are effective ways to demonstrate skills and attributes to prospective employers before an interview or face-to-face meeting takes place.
During his career, Reynolds has focused on outplacement services, the recruitment, selection and retention of mission critical talent and the enhancement of leadership skills. He was the co-founder of Chagrin Valley Job Seekers, a job search support group for professionals in career transition.
