AKRON, Ohio – Akron Children’s Hospital has been recognized as a one of the best places to work in northeast Ohio for the seventh consecutive year. The hospital will receive its NorthCoast 99 award at a Sept. 18 ceremony.
NorthCoast 99 is an annual recognition program that honors the 99 best workplaces in northeastern Ohio. The program was developed by the Employers Resource Council (ERC), which is northeast Ohio’s leading and largest professional organization dedicated to human resource practices, programs and services.
“It’s such a privilege to be recognized again as one of the top northeast employers,” said Walt Schwoeble. "With the tremendous growth of our organization, it is very exciting to see the extraordinary commitment and engagement of our employees as we grow and provide our services across northern Ohio. We are committed to providing an organization that invests in employee training and development and actively focuses on employee satisfaction and involvement. Being mission driven, our staff focuses on providing care to all children and embraces the golden rule: To treat others as you would want to be treated."
NorthCoast 99 designation is based on a detailed application process, and a survey of the top performing employees. The ERC examines seven, fundamental characteristics that address quality: flexibility, opportunity, recognition, development, security, support and talent integrity.
