Matthew J. Gavin, 1989 graduate of Hudson High School, has been promoted to director and chief operations officer of fixed income operations globally at Barclay Bank in New York City.

Gavin and his wife, Allison, and their children, Murphy, Campbell and Parker, live in Manhattan.

at Martino Flynn

Martino Flynn, LLC, has hired Katie D'Arcy as public relations and social media account executive for its public relations department. D'Arcy will provide public relations and social media strategy and support to several of the agency's business-to-business and consumer accounts. Prior to joining Martino Flynn, D'Arcy supported clients in the medical device, technology, manufacturing, and not-for-profit industries at Travers Collins, a Buffalo-based integrated marketing communications agency. She then joined McDougall Travers Collins, sister agency of Travers Collins, in Rochester, to support national and global clients. D'Arcy received a bachelor of science degree in public relations at Kent State University. D'Arcy is a former resident of Hudson and graduate of Hudson High School, she currently resides in Chili, N.Y.

Radcom employee wins sales/marketing award

Ginny Haas, account executive at Hudson-based Radcom Inc., won a Distinguished Sales and Marketing Award, sponsored by the Akron affiliate of Sales and Marketing Executives International. This honor annually recognizes outstanding accomplishments of sales and marketing professionals in the Akron area.

Haas and 29 other DSMA recipients were to be presented their awards on Feb. 26 at a ceremony at the Tangier in Akron.

As an account executive at Radcom Inc., Haas is responsible for client relationships, assisting with new business development and mentoring other sales representatives. Since joining Radcom in 2006, sales volume has increased from $900,000 to close to $2 million in 2012. As a result of Haas's contributions, Radcom has won several Weatherhead 100 Awards and NEO Success Awards.

As an active member of the Society for Technical Communications, Haas has been recognized for outstanding service. She helped raise more than $11,000 in sponsorship and her team received the International STC Public Relations Competition Award of Distinction for their efforts.
