Meeting set for Feb. 18

Jeff Bissell, a Hudson Job Search adviser and CFO at National Machine Co. in Stow, will be the speaker at the Hudson Job Search meeting Feb. 18 at Christ Church Episcopal, 21 Aurora St., He will discuss "How to Skillfully Promote Your Achievements in a Job Search." Sign-in starts at 7:15 p.m.

Doing a good job promoting your skills, successes and attitude is vital to developing confidence and connections during a job search, Bissell says. The process begins with exploring and capturing your accomplishments succinctly on your resume, then developing a short summary that can be presented in a minute or two.

Participants will learn the key elements of developing effective accomplishment bullets on a resume, practice writing bullets on their accomplishments, and developing the "rest of the story." Then they will have the opportunity to practice discussing their accomplishments. This interactive session will help develop skills that can immediately be used in a job search. Bring a copy of your resume.

Hudson Job Search meets the first and third Monday evenings of each month at Christ Church Episcopal. The meetings are free and open to the public. For more information, go to www.hudsonjs.org or call 330-653-5322.
