Seminar looks at Social Security, retirement
Hudson Chamber of Commerce Network Connections will offer the free seminar "Building A Confident Retirement & Maximizing Your Social Security Benefits" Feb. 12 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Summa Wellness Institute, 5625 Hudson Drive in Hudson.
The presenter is J. Michael Agan, regional director for Ameriprise Financial. The presentation will be hosted by Ameriprise Financial, Dexter L. James.

Book Club in a Bar meets in Kent
The Learned Owl Book Shop's Book Club in a Bar will meet at the Bistro on Main, 1313 West Main St. in Kent, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. to discuss "Whose Body?" by Dorothy L. Sayers. The 1923 English murder mystery introduces gentleman sleuth Lord Peter Wimsey.

Jo-Ann collects for hurricane victims
Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, in partnership with the American Red Cross, will collect monetary donations through Feb. 1 to benefit the American Red Cross - 2012 Hurricane and Other Related Storm Fund.
