Hudson Police Reports, Sept. 11, 2016

Field sobriety tests failed: A 52-year-old Hudson Park Drive man was charged with driving while under the influence Sept. 5 at 11:08 p.m. on East Streetsboro Road at East Main Street. Police said they stopped the vehicle after it drove through a traffic light, for which the man was charged. Police said the man appeared to be under the influence of drugs and failed field sobriety tests.


Item taken: A 57-year-old resident reported the theft of 34 12-foot deck boards worth a total of $800 Sept. 3 at 9:24 a.m. Police are investigating.

Engine engulfed in flames: A car fire was reported Sept. 1 at 9:19 a.m. in the rear of a parking lot on West Streetsboro Street. Police said when they arrived, the car's engine was completely engulfed in flames. The Hudson Fire Department arrived and extinguished the flames. No injuries were reported.


Victim of fraudulent act: A 41-year-old Hunting Hollow Drive resident reported Aug. 31 at 6:01 p.m. an incident of identity fraud. The resident reported two credit cards were fraudulently used with the man's name and Social Security number. Police said there was no monetary loss.

Over the speed limit: A 22-year-old Akron man was charged with driving under suspension Aug. 30 at 11:12 p.m. on Hudson Drive. Police said they stopped the vehicle for driving 53 mph in a 35 mph zone, for which the man was charged with speeding, then the man was found to be driving under suspension.

Registration check: A 27-year-old Akron man was found to be driving under suspension Aug. 31 at 10:04 p.m. at South Main Street. Police said they stopped the man after a registration check.


Mailboxes struck: A 57-year-old Ravenna Street man reported Sept. 1 at 1:19 p.m. a vehicle's driver's side mirror appeared to have struck his mailboxes between noon and 1 p.m., and they were scraped but not destroyed. Police said mirror glass was found at the scene and appeared to belong to a heavy duty truck. Police are investigating.

Mailbox hit: A 45-year-old Lake Forest Drive man reported Sept. 1 at 9:35 p.m. his mailbox was hit by a vehicle. Police said debris that was part of the front passenger side of the vehicle was found at the scene. Damage was estimated at $150, according to police.


Parked vehicle damaged: A 60-year-old Hudson man reported Sept. 5 at 9:41 p.m. damage to his parked car on North Main Street. The man reported a brick was thrown through the driver's side window and landed on the driver's seat, causing $450 worth of damage.



Driver cited: A 20-year-old Akron woman was cited for driving with expired temporary license plates Sept. 5 at 3:55 p.m. Police said they stopped the vehicle after spotting the expired temporary tag.
