LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- An international flight on its way from Jamaica to Canada had to land in Nebraska early Tuesday to deal with an unruly passenger.
Sunwing airlines Flight 739 landed in Lincoln with about 140 passengers at 12:22 a.m. Tuesday. The Boeing 737 spent 5½ hours on the tarmac before continuing on to its final destination of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Airport Operations Director Bob McNally says a Calgary man was removed from the flight because he refused to sit in his seat and disturbed other passengers.
The 48-year-old Calgary man who had been drinking was taken to a hospital, and four people who were travelling with him stayed in Lincoln.
Federal officials will determine whether to file charges against the man.
Airline officials did not immediately respond Tuesday.
