DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- The Des Moines city manager says he's quitting his job to move to Cleveland.

Rick Clark told The Des Moines Register (http://dmreg.co/JrUy53) on Tuesday that he'll move to Cleveland with his wife, Mary Grace Herrington. She's starting a job Feb. 1 as chief development officer for Ideastream, a nonprofit that operates the main public broadcasting stations in Cleveland.

Clark has worked as city manager since 2006. He began work as an associate city planner in Des Moines in 1973.

Clark says he hasn't decided what he'll do next. He also hasn't chosen his final day in his Des Moines job.

Although he was born in Cleveland, Clark says he hasn't lived there for more than 50 years.
