HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) -- University of Cincinnati football players and coaches are among several thousand mourners who paid their respects at a memorial for an offensive lineman killed in a vehicle crash.
Friends and former coaches shared memories of 19-year-old Ben Flick during a visitation Tuesday at his old high school gym in Hamilton. His funeral Mass was scheduled Wednesday.
The driver in the crash, 18-year-old Miami University student Sean VanDyne, of Hamilton, also died. Authorities say VanDyne was driving with three freshmen Cincinnati players returning from the Bearcats' Saturday night win at Miami in Oxford, 25 miles north of Cincinnati.
The crash injured receivers Mark Barr of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Javon Harrison of Dayton. Like Flick, they were redshirting. Barr remained hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday.
The Bearcats have a bye week.
