BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) -- River Plate defeated Buenos Aires archrival Boca Juniors 2-1 on Sunday to move within a point of the lead in Argentina's first division.
Ramiro Funes Mori scored the winner in the 85th minute after Juan Roman Riquelme leveled the score at 1-1, sending the home crowd into jubilant cheering at Boca's La Bombonera stadium. Manuel Lanzini had put River ahead on the 57th.
River Plate improved to 17 points, one behind leader Colon. Boca remained on 12 points. It was River's first victory in Boca's stadium since 2004.
In other results Sunday, Colon lost 1-0 to Arsenal, and Lanus defeated Rosario Central 2-1.
