MILAN (AP) -- Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin has launched a stinging attack on his club, claiming he never asked to leave.
Guarin was on the verge of departing for Juventus last week in a swap deal involving Mirko Vucinic, but new Inter president Erick Thohir pulled the plug on the deal at the last minute.
The 27-year-old Guarin says on his Twitter account on Friday, "Inter, since it was you who put me up for sale without me ever telling anyone I wanted to leave ... I ask for clarity and respect for me, for the fans and for my agent."
The Colombia international adds he is happy to remain at the club, despite what has happened.
