CHARELSTON, Ill. (AP) -- Chris Olivier's tip-in with two seconds left lifted Eastern Illinois to a 70-69 win over Tennessee State in a thrilling Ohio Valley Conference opener on Saturday.
In just his third game since becoming eligible after transferring from Northern Iowa, Olivier had 14 points and 15 rebounds, including a tip-in of Sherman Blanford's miss.
The Panthers (4-8, 1-0) trailed by 10 with 4:11 left after a Patrick Miller layup. The Tigers (1-13, 0-1) trailed by five at halftime but surged away from a 38-38 tie behind Miller, who matched his career high with 30 points.
Olivier and Alex Austin both had six points in the closing surge. Austin and Reggie Smith, who had 7 assists, finished with 10 points, Blanford had 15.
Jacquan Nobles had 14 points for Tennessee State and M.J. Rhett had 10 with eight rebounds.
The Panthers had 15 offensive rebounds to offset 39-percent shooting.
