LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- Freshmen tailbacks Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams each rushed for more than 100 yards as Arkansas pulled away from Samford, 31-21, Saturday night, bringing the Razorbacks a much-needed victory in Little Rock.
But the win didn't come easy as Samford (1-1) led 21-17 in the third quarter.
Arkansas (2-0) was able to regain the lead on a drive in which Collins had a 21-yard carry. After a defensive stop, Arkansas got some breathing room with a Collins TD that brought the score to 31-21. Collins spurred the drive on with a 45-yard carry.
Fullback Kiero Small had a key fourth-down carry for a first down to the Samford 20 with 2:01 to enable Arkansas to run out the clock.
Arkansas lost both its Little Rock games on the final plays last season.
