PARAMUS, N.J. (AP) -- A man suspected of firing multiple shots and causing a lockdown at New Jersey's largest shopping mall is still at large hours after law enforcement officers began an intense search for him.
The Garden State Plaza mall in Paramus will be closed Tuesday, a day after authorities say a man dressed in black and wearing what is believed to be a motorcycle helmet fired multiple shots shortly before the mall's 9:30 p.m. closing time. There were no injuries.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office has scheduled a news conference for 10 a.m. to discuss the case.
Amid media reports of a possible arrest, prosecutor John Molinelli says he cannot confirm that a suspect is in custody or release the identity of the alleged shooter.
