TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- The University of Toledo and the Toledo Zoo are among the places announcing closures as the county declares a snow emergency during a winter storm.

Monday classes have been canceled, but UT will remain open. Nonessential employees are being asked to stay home. The medical center and its outpatient clinics will remain open.

Classes also have been cancelled for Toledo Public Schools and dozens of others.

The Toledo Zoo announced that it would close at 3 p.m. Sunday and remain closed through Monday.

A Level 3 snow emergency was declared for all roads in Lucas County beginning at 5:30 p.m. Sunday. That means that only emergency personnel are allowed on the roadways.

In addition, all Metroparks in the county are set to be closed Monday because of the snow emergency.
