TravelCenters closes on buyout of 31 stores


WESTLAKE, Ohio (AP) -- TravelCenters of America LLC has closed on its purchase of 31 convenience stores with gas stations for $67.9 million.

The company said Tuesday that it will continue to run the stores under the "Minit Mart" brand name. Three of the stores are in Tennessee and 28 in Kentucky.

TravelCenters of America runs and franchises properties under the "TravelCenters of America", "TA", "Petro Stopping Centers" and "Petro" brand names. The locations offer diesel and gasoline fuel, restaurants, truck repair centers, stores and other services.

The company's stock shed 9 cents to $8.77 in midday trading on Tuesday.
