ADELAIDE, AUSTRALIA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/24/13 -- DocWeek has widened the search to unearth the hottest up and coming documentary talent in our region, transforming the successful F4 Award for Australian Documentary Talent into the 'Asia Pacific New Documentary Program.' A selection of films from emerging filmmakers across the Asia Pacific region will be showcased during DocWeek in Adelaide, Australia in March 2014. The Asia Pacific New Documentary Program is presented by Education partner Flinders University, Development Partner, ABC International and with the support of our esteemed Regional partner organisations.
The competitive documentary program will be judged by a panel of high profile documentary executives, and compete for the F4 Award for Outstanding New Australian Documentary Talent and the inaugural Asia Pacific New Documentary Award for Outstanding New Asia Pacific Documentary Talent.

Regional partner organisations participating in the Asia Pacific New Documentary Program include Cambodia Film Commission; FIFO Festival International Du Film Documentaire Oceanien; Further Arts Vanuatu; Indian Documentary Foundation; iDocs International Documentary Forum; MyDocs Malaysian Documentary Association and New Zealand Film Commission.
The finalists will travel to Adelaide for DocWeek and the Australian International Documentary Conference, participating in a series of professional development workshops whilst having full access to conference sessions and networking opportunities and events. A representative from each partner organisation has also been invited to attend the conference and professional development program. They are encouraged to join the AIDC in a round table discussion on establishing an Asia Pacific Documentary Network, and how we can best strengthen the ties in our region.
